Get juiced!

Posted on: June 8th, 2017 by Jez

A few months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting entrepreneurs Jackie and James, who wanted to create their own little piece of Bondi Beach in Ashley Cross, Poole. With a fantastic vision they established Blue Orange Juice Bar – a café selling delicious and incredibly healthy juices along side scrumptious and wholesome foods. However, before they could start on the café, they needed a logo and website – this is where we came in!

We were approached by the inspiring duo to create a rustic, yet strong logo that was colourful and vibrant – much like the ingredients they use at the café. It was important to design a logo that would not only look great and communicate the right messages but also work on packaging and bottle designs. To accompany this, we also designed and built a simple website with easy navigation and lots of delicious looking photography to tease our taste buds!

The overall outcome worked wonderfully well and Blue Orange Juice Bar now have a logo and website design that represents the pairs invigorating trips to Australia as well as their healthy and passionate values. Take a look at some more images of our work here!

Flying High

Posted on: March 7th, 2017 by Jez

In the last few months, we’ve been flying high amongst the eagles helping the lovely people at The Hawk Conservancy Trust re-design their website. In recent times, there has been an enormous increase in demand for websites and other digital based media, with e-commerce and content management sites becoming more and more popular. The Hawk Conservancy recognised this surge in demand and contacted Coast to create a website with a modern and captivating look.

Working closely with the staff, we transformed their website into a user-friendly hub with a fresh and engaging style that reflects the fun and informative nature of the trust. The staff can also use their bespoke-built content management system to help update and regulate their own text and images with ease. The site is fully responsive and works on most modern devices, such as iPads and iPhones, and really captures the essence of The Hawk Conservancy in both style and character. We are extremely proud of what we have achieved and feel privileged to be helping a fantastic organisation promote such beautiful birds.

One Year, cold beer!

Friends toasting with beer

We all know time flies when you’re having fun, but Coast’s first year at North Street has come quicker than expected! Exactly one year ago today, we started our new adventure here and our love for the studio has just grown and grown. From a rather plain space, the office was transformed into a wonderfully bright and airy studio with plenty of space for growth and of course, ball games!

During our first year, we’ve celebrated Christmas 2015, enjoyed too many delicious delicacies from M&S, welcomed exciting new clients, laughed until our bellies have hurt and watched seagulls swoop down and steal peoples’ chips! It’s been a great year and we feel privileged to be in a place where we can be in the heart of a town and still feel the sea breeze through our windows!

It’s time to grab a cold beer and raise our glasses to a fantastic first year while welcoming a new one with open arms!

Snapshots of the past

With our year anniversary at North Street fast approaching, we thought we’d show you just how far we’ve come in such a short space of time . From new walls to a bespoke table made by our very own creative director, we’ve spent a lot of hours making North Street feel like home and after a year, we feel more at home than ever!

Blossoming Broadstone;

During the summer months, the headteacher at Broadstone First School, Michelle, wanted to give her school a new look and appointed Coast to create a wall graphic for the entrance to the school.

It’s been an exciting few weeks here at Coast, but it’s finally up! From sketch to the wall, we worked closely with the Michelle to create something that reflected her mission. The tomato plant was used as a visual way of communicating nurture and growth within the school; exactly what Michelle was hoping for! We hope that the children will like it as much as we do!

Trimetals are finally live! We have been working closely with Trimetals for several months to re-design and

We have been working closely with Trimetals for several months to give them a brand new website that not only looks great but is also responsive and up-to-date. They wanted a website that would show off their products and enable customers to buy with ease. The result is a clean looking e-commerce website that fits with their desired image.

Why is design important?

Posted on: June 15th, 2016 by Jez

A question that pops up quite often, especially to our designers, is why is design important? From our point of view, it’s important for a number of reasons.

The first one being its ability to differentiate. Without design, no packet of crumbly biscuits would look different, no pair of trainers would ever look cooler than the next or more interesting. It’s important to give us an identity, to give us choices.

The second one being its ability to inspire. Now, despite what some people may think, no design is every completely original; every designer takes inspiration from others, whether it be from their own design work or things like photography or film. It has a wonderful capability of moving us through our work and giving us the ideas and motivation to create great things.

The third one being its ability to communicate. Communication is an essential part of our lives and design helps to make this easier. Whether you want to communicate the positive points of your business or want to shout about your new innovative ideas, design helps to give your clients and consumers the vital information you want them to know.

Lastly, design is necessary to colour our world and make our lives more engaging and much more fun!

A Roaring good time …

COAST TEAM JUNGLE

It’s the morning after and despite a few tired eyes, we are still buzzing from a really fantastic night at The Marwell Zoo for BIAZA’s 50th Anniversary dinner! It was really good to see lots of members at the dinner and also to see so many people enjoying our work.

With roller banners scattered throughout the hotel, we were very proud to see our handy work at such a marvelous and worthy event. We have also had wonderful compliments about the 50 year brochure design we produced and we are honored to have been given the opportunity to design such a special piece of print material.

aimee

It’s been a few weeks since Aimee started at Coast HQ but she’s settled in fantastically well! She has been getting to grips with all we do here at Coast including print jobs, such as business cards and stickers, but also websites and other digital media, too! Not only that, she’s proven to be a very fun and intelligent individual and has already impressed us with her drive and determination.

Aimee has started with a bang and we are looking forward to seeing what else she has to offer!

Three cheers for Aimee!

We’ve been here how long?

RECEPTION

It seems like only yesterday we parted with our previous office and set up camp in a bigger and more creative abode. So raise your glasses and throw your hats to the wind as it’s time to celebrate our six month anniversary!

Over the last few months, we have been getting used to our new environment and adapting the space to suit our needs. With a beautiful new board room, we have been able to host lots of meetings for new and existing clients and gather together for casual coffee and biscuit breaks. We feel totally privileged to be close to both the hustle and bustle of the town and the peace and tranquillity of the nearby sea; hot chips by the quay is definitely mandatory!

So, if you are ever passing and fancy a chat, drop in for a cuppa and we would love to show you around!
