M&S is one of the UK’s leading retailers, with 1,382 stores worldwide. They are committed to delivering sustainable value for our stakeholders and making every moment special through the high quality, own brand food, clothing and home products we offer in our stores and online, both in the UK and internationally.
One of the pleasing aspects to M&S, is their ability to recycle. As one of the UK’s largest chains, they were very proud to be one of the first to be able to claim they sent 0% of there waste to landfill. M&S pride themselves on their ability to recycle 100% of there own waste. To help push the message at several London based conferences, we were asked to develop some graphics to emphasise the importance of recycling. After submitting a number of options, we agreed on a couple of ideas and set about the unusual task of creating large illustrated recycling arrows made of M&S products and a group of very oversized inflatable products.
The products were designed to reflect the original packaging, but the text replaced by waste messages. We were also asked to produce photography for a range of internal waste messages. Posters, banners, stickers etc.
