A model of health and tranquility

To demonstrate their new bespoke patient enclosure, Bioquell approached us with the challenge of creating a model of their new product, the Bioquell Pod.

The brief was to design and build a scale model of their new Pod system which could be showcased at shows and exhibitions where space was restricted and taking a full scale enclosure was not possible. The model was to be portable and lightweight yet strong enough to cope with the demands of transportation and demonstrate all the important benefits of this revolutionary product.

We looked at a number of materials from card to plastic, and considered various types of model. Initially we considered a collapsible card version that would be put together on the day and then disposed of after the event. However the client felt the model needed to be more detailed to show-off some of its modern styling. The decision was made to create the model in Perspex panels with printed graphics mounted onto each face. A 3-dimensional feel was added with the frame being cut out of a thin material and added to the plastic sides. We illustrated each view in a light, simple style and a molded plastic front face gave it a realistic shape. The result was a highly stylised but detailed model of the Pod, showing all the key benefits with the clear plastic sides allowing for complete access to view the interior fully.
