Communications specialists to the defence sector…

Posted on: June 25th, 2015 by Sam Gale

Some industries are more specialised than others and demand particular insight and understanding in their communication.

At Coast, our team has acquired a unique specialisation in the defence sector, and has experience working with names like Cobham, Meggitt, Roke, Britannia, Esterline and Siemens.

For our clients, this means fast track understanding of the issues and challenges, total confidentiality with discretion, together with access to a resource that can react quickly in all areas of the communication mix. And always with a creative and practical approach to deliver all types of projects on time and on budget. Few agencies can offer our depth of experience in your sector and at surprisingly competitive rates.

A model of health and tranquility

To demonstrate their new bespoke patient enclosure, Bioquell approached us with the challenge of creating a model of their new product, the Bioquell Pod.

Bioquell Pod

The brief was to design and build a scale model of their new Pod system which could be showcased at shows and exhibitions where space was restricted and taking a full scale enclosure was not possible. The model was to be portable and lightweight yet strong enough to cope with the demands of transportation and demonstrate all the important benefits of this revolutionary product.

We looked at a number of materials from card to plastic, and considered various types of model. Initially we considered a collapsible card version that would be put together on the day and then disposed of after the event. However the client felt the model needed to be more detailed to show-off some of its modern styling. The decision was made to create the model in Perspex panels with printed graphics mounted onto each face. A 3-dimensional feel was added with the frame being cut out of a thin material and added to the plastic sides. We illustrated each view in a light, simple style and a molded plastic front face gave it a realistic shape. The result was a highly stylised but detailed model of the Pod, showing all the key benefits with the clear plastic sides allowing for complete access to view the interior fully.

In at the deep end

Posted on: January 21st, 2015 by Sam Gale

new-startThrown in at the deep end – is how I would describe my first month at Coast in six small words. But this is just how I like it! Hi, I’m Sam and I have recently joined the Coast Agency team as Account Executive, tasked with the mission of supporting Rob and the team with, well, anything they may need. Mission accepted.

I have come from a large corporate brand and although this was a brilliant experience and one which has enhanced my career massively, I can admit now that the role had become increasingly repetitive and on my quest for variation, I found Coast. Changing jobs can be scary but I was super excited to start 2015 afresh! I have finally taken the leap to start the next step in my career…

And how has it worked out?

I couldn’t be happier! In such a short space of time I have experienced a new world of creativity, variation and exciting projects. I have cried a countless amount of happy tears due to laughter, met a crazy amount of new people, eaten a massive amount of chocolate and found myself quickly becoming a member of the Coast family, ‘feet firmly under the table’ as Jez would say.

What’s next?

Well, I have a long way to go yet in terms of learning everything that I need to know to make a success of my role. Learning things every day, I plan on getting to know each client, their personality and style and working closely with them to ensure projects undertaken have the maximum affect. I plan to grow the Coast Agency name and support the great Coast team in producing the amazing work that they do here. I am enjoying working with all our clients at present and look forward to meeting many more new people throughout my time here at Coast, so get in touch!

So…that’s me; New Year, new job, new prospects and new goals…new addition to the Coast team.

Sam
